Serving with Purpose: My Mission Trip to Casa de Luz, Mexico

From June 27 to July 4, I had the privilege of joining a mission trip to Casa de Luz in Mexico, organized by the Penticton Vineyard Church—a community I’ve proudly been part of for several years. This experience was both humbling and inspiring, offering a powerful reminder of the importance of giving back and helping those in need.
Throughout the week, our team took part in various building projects, supported local outreach programs, and delivered hampers to families facing extreme hardship. We also engaged in community activities, connecting with local children and families, offering friendship, encouragement, and joy in simple yet profound ways.
What stood out most to me was how meaningful small acts of service can be. Whether swinging a hammer or sharing a smile, every moment contributed to something much greater—hope, dignity, and love in action.
This mission trip reinforced my belief in the power of compassion and community. Giving back is not just a duty; it’s a privilege. It shapes character, strengthens empathy, and reminds us that the greatest impact often comes from simply showing up and being present.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve and to be a part of something that truly matters.
