Off-Season Grind: Training with Matt Fraser and Prepping for the Season Ahead
This off-season, I’ve been fortunate to train under the guidance of Matt Fraser, the strength and conditioning coach for the WHL Penticton Vees. His program has pushed me to new levels—physically, mentally, and nutritionally—as I prepare for the upcoming season.
Matt’s strength and conditioning plan is tailored for elite hockey players, focusing on explosive power, endurance, and injury prevention. From early morning lifts to intense mobility work, every session is designed with purpose. The programming builds a solid athletic foundation while targeting hockey-specific performance goals.
Alongside the physical training, I’ve been following a focused nutrition program to fuel recovery and performance. Clean eating, proper hydration, and supplement support have become daily habits—giving me more energy, faster recovery, and consistent progress.
And of course, we’re on the ice every day. The daily skill sessions and edge work keep my hands sharp and my legs strong, making sure I hit the ground skating when camp opens.
This complete program—off-ice, on-ice, and nutritional—has given me a massive edge heading into the season. I’m feeling confident, prepared, and motivated to make this my most impactful year yet.
